About Adrenaline

Founded in 2011, Adrenaline Volleyball Club (AVBC) is a member of the Southern Region Volleyball Association (SRVA) and serves athletes throughout North Georgia, Southeast Tennessee, and surrounding areas. Our mission is to develop players of all skill levels through quality coaching, competitive tournament play, and a commitment to excellence. Teams practice multiple times each week and have open gym opportunities as well as other team bonding experiences. Our experienced coaching staff are Impact Certified, Positive Coaching Alliance Certified, and SafeSport Trained. They are dedicated to helping athletes grow both on and off the court, including those pursuing opportunities to play at the collegiate level.

We believe athletes grow by being challenged. Every practice, tournament, and match is an opportunity to build skill, confidence, and volleyball IQ.

Our coaches create an environment where athletes feel supported, encouraged, and challenged to reach their full potential. Through genuine relationships and consistent training, we help players become better teammates, stronger competitors, and young women of character.

Shannon Johnson

In Loving Memory of Coach Shannon Johnson

Our club suffered a tremendous loss in 2025 with the passing of our 14s coach, Shannon Johnson.

Shannon was a beloved member of the Adrenaline Volleyball Club family. She served as a dedicated coach with Adrenaline for two years, bringing not only her knowledge and passion for the game but also an unwavering love for her players.

Shannon’s vibrant spirit, infectious enthusiasm, and genuine care for those around her made her more than a coach—she was a mentor, a friend, and an inspiration. Her love for life was evident in everything she did, and she left behind a legacy of positivity, strength, and compassion that will forever resonate within the community and our Adrenaline family. She is deeply missed, but her impact on the lives she touched will never be forgotten.

Our hearts and prayers remain with her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Rest in peace, Coach Shannon. You will always be part of the Adrenaline family.

Club Director and Head Coach

Lisa White McDowell

Lisa White McDowell has dedicated her life to the game of volleyball, first as an accomplished athlete and now as a respected coach and mentor.

A standout player at East Ridge High School, Lisa set numerous school records—many of which still stand today—and her remarkable career earned her the rare honor of having her jersey number 44 retired. She was named Player of the Year all four years of high school, earned All-American honors, and consistently earned Tournament MVP recognition throughout both her high school and collegiate career. She continued her playing career on a full athletic scholarship at Middle Tennessee State University, where she competed at the collegiate level before training at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Since 2006, Lisa has been passionate about developing young athletes, helping players grow not only in skill and volleyball IQ, but also in confidence, leadership, and character. Her contributions to the sport were recognized in 2014 when she was inducted into the East Ridge Athletic Hall of Fame.

As the founder and director of Adrenaline Volleyball Club, Lisa leads with the belief that great coaching goes beyond teaching the game. Together with her coaching staff, she is committed to creating an environment where athletes are challenged, supported, and inspired to become the very best versions of themselves while playing for Christ—both on and off the court.
